Currency Rate for Armenia

Armenian dram is the official currency unit of Armenia and it equals 100 luma , Armenia is very unique country, located in West Asia, It is bordered by Turkey to the West and Georgia to the North, it was influenced by many cultures as it was situated along the route of the Great Silk Road.
Armenian central bank in 1993 earned the right of issuing national currency after proclaiming Armenian independence on 21 September 1991, after the collapse of Soviet Union there were many attempts to retain a common currency which of course provides unity to the CIS (Commonwealth of independent states) that currency was (Russian Ruble).
But the circumstances post-Soviet states on different aspects politically and economically were very difficult and the currency collapsed with Russia making monetary reform in 1993, and that forced states which were part of the union (Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Moldova and Uzbekistan) to issue there separate currencies, and Armenia introduced the Armenian Dram on 22 November 1993.The Armenian Dram design was made in 1995 with (currency code : AMD) , there are two series of banknotes and coins have been issued.

Currency Rates for Armenian Dram

For banknotes the first series was issued between (1993-1995) started on 22 November 1993 and it stopped being circulated by 2005, banknotes of 10, 25, 50, 100, 200, 500 of Armenian Dram were issued, the second series (1998-present) but banknotes of 50, 100, 500 aren't usually used as coins of same value are used instead. For coins the first series(1994-2002) was introduced in with values of of 10, 20, and 50 luma (Armenian Dram = 100 luma), and 1, 3, 5, 10 Armenian Dram.
In 2003 and 2004 the second series was established to replace first series with 10, 20, 50, 100. 200, 500 Armenian Dram coins.
